Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
The Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Center was established in 1920 and is a popular stop if unable to visit the Sepilok sanctuary in Sabah. Though much less visited and with fewer facilities than its Sabah counterpart, the center still gets substantial visitors every year. The orangutans, monkeys, and honey bears here have been orphaned due to forest clearing or were illegally kept as pets. There are several feeding times per day but like Sepilok, the apes usually only return to the feeding platforms when natural fruit in the forest is low.
